News & notes

2 1/2 months ago, Will Brown was the women's basketball coach at Queens College.

Today, Queens College is looking for a new coach, while Brown returns home to the 518.

This is because Brown accepted an offer from Green Tech to become their new men's basketball coach, succeeding TJ Jones, who left in June to be the men's coach & athletic director at KIPP-Capital Region.

Green Tech plays an independent schedule, which would be akin to the college schedule Brown is accustomed to. Brown will be introduced at a presser later today.

This is going to be fun, especially if, with Brown's resume, the Eagles get some TV time this winter on WNYA.....!

None of Monday's golf matches in Section II were reported as of press time. Maybe tomorrow. Just not enough space available in today's edition, it seems.
