The women's tennis season is nearing its end, but the Lady Horses couldn't celebrate Senior Night on Friday for whatever reason. As of press time, we hadn't received a report on Friday's scheduled match vs. Emma Willard.
Let's jump right into it.
Tennis:
Current record: 4-8.
Troy played and won a rare doubleheader vs. Schalmont last Monday. Unfortunately, due to weather, they haven't played since, as a road match vs. Voorheesville was postponed twice due to weather, and we think the home match vs. Emma Willard shared the same fate.
Next: The season closes with a 2 match road trip, starting today at Albany Academy, then at Holy Names on Tuesday, before sectional pairings are announced.
Women's soccer:
Current record: Incomplete.
For reasons unknown, the school has not reported Thursday's home match vs. LaSalle, which wasn't streamed. Might've been rained out, and if so, Troy's record would be 2-6-1 after losing to Ichabod Crane on Saturday, 1-0.
Next: Jarret Farrell's club returns home to play Albany Academy on Tuesday, then a non-league matinee vs. Tamarac on Saturday.
Men's soccer:
Current record: 3-6.
Russ Hines' club snapped a 3 game losing streak in beating Lansingburgh on Saturday. Six games remain, 4 in league play.
Next: Troy hits the road to play Albany Academy Tuesday, then Ballston Spa in a non-league match on Thursday.
Golf:
Current record: 4-6.
Jack O'Keefe's duffers were swept by Albany Academy before placing 6th in the league championships.
Next: A rematch vs. Schalmont on Tuesday, and Senior day vs. LaSalle on Wednesday closes out the regular season.
Football:
Current record: 3-1 (1-0 Class A Capital Division).
Troy kept Columbia winless with a 27-14 verdict on Friday.
Next: Niskayuna, coming off a blowout over Bethlehem, comes to town as the last roadblock for Troy.
Volleyball:
Current record: 8-0? (Not including the Averill Park tournament on 9/26)
That question mark is there because the 9/24 match vs. Lansingburgh was never reported. We've reached out to AD Paul Reinisch, hoping to discern the result.
Next: Talia Valenti's group will have a showdown for 1st place vs. Mohonasen tonight, then return home for a non-league tilt vs. Ballston Spa on Wednesday, and also host Albany on Friday.
Swimming:
Current record: 2-2.
Troy-Averill Park bested Albany, snapping a 2 meet losing streak.
Next: The ladies are idle, save for the Shenendehowa Invitational on Saturday. Regular season action resumes October 8 at Niskayuna.
