It was a bad omen for Troy High when their long time PA announcer missed tonight's women's varsity game vs. Guilderland, and they didn't have a fill-in available. Steve Lombard's team had just come off its 1st win of the season three nights earlier, and hungered for revenge against a similarly undermanned Guilderland club that beat them three weeks ago in a tournament.
As short-handed as Troy has been all season, Guilderland was in a similar jam, dressing just 8 players. The difference was in the varsity experience of the Lady Dutch, who pulled out a 50-46 win, similar to their 4 point victory in Halfmoon three weeks ago.

Just to show how cruel the schedule makers were to Troy, the Lady Horses (1-13 overall) head to Kingston tomorrow, then return home to start a killer final three weeks of the season vs. Averill Park & Shenendehowa at home, then on the road at Columbia before returning to Zotto Gym for Senior Night February 3 vs. Niskayuna, finishing a week later at Bethlehem.
Stats tomorrow. We hope.
