UAlbany picked up its 1st win of the season Saturday night, taking down Cornell, 14-10.
Don't think that the start of league play will help change the Great Danes' fortunes, though. There is a reason Jared Ambrose is still the "interim" head coach........

LaSalle has made some changes to their hockey schedule, precipitated by Albany Academy's departure last month from the CDHSHL. The two dates previously scheduled---December 12 @ AA, and February 6 at Knickerbacker Ice Arena----are now listed as TBA.
Also, LaSalle & Bethlehem have changed the dates for their season series, which is now 3 games instead of 2 (don't ask). The Cadets will travel to Delmar on December 10 and February 7, while the Eagles visit the Knick on January 10. The December 13 game, originally vs. Bethlehem, is now vs. Northeastern Clinton out of the Syracuse area.
Expect more changes.

LaSalle football, on the other hand, is 0-3 after getting blanked by Queensbury, 34-0, on Saturday. Mark Galuski's undermanned squad needs to figure it out, and quickly, otherwise, the Collar City Cup will be heading back to Troy High come the latter's senior night on October 17. This after Troy blew out Mohonasen & South Glens Falls by a combined 115-33 in their last two games.

Troy's remaining schedule figures to be in their favor, meaning, as I suggested yesterday, they could move up in the seeding in the playoffs. The remaining 5 games:
Friday: @ Columbia (0-3).
October 3: Niskayuna (2-1).
October 10: Bethlehem (1-2).
October 17: LaSalle (0-3).
October 24: @ Amsterdam (1-2).
Keep in mind that Nisky struggled to beat Cicero-North Syracuse, and they are vulnerable, as Shenendehowa demonstrated a week prior. 7-1 or 6-2 is do-able. Stay tuned.
