Rain wiped out the entire softball schedule on Tuesday, plus the Class D baseball semi-finals, all of which will be played today. Weather permitting, of course.
However, Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam has a turf field, so the Class B semi-finals in baseball took place.
Top seeded Coxsackie-Athens was upset by the #4 seed, Schuylerville, 7-0. Meanwhile, Mechanicville tripped Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, 2-1, eliminating the last hope of the Colonial Council to capture a sectional championship in baseball. Schuylerville will play Mechanicville Friday night at Bruno Stadium. First pitch is set for 7 pm, but again, it all depends on the weather.
