An ex-Valleycat calls it a career

It was announced earlier today that former Tri-City Valleycat Hunter Pence, who spent his 1st professional season with the 'Cats in 2004 after being drafted by Houston in the 2nd round, has announced his retirement after 14 seasons in the major leagues with Houston, Philadelphia, Texas, & San Francisco.

Pence was on 2 World Series championship teams with the Giants in 2012 & 2014 before being released after the 2018 season. He was signed as a free agent by the Rangers prior to the 2019 season, and made the opening day roster. He returned to the Giants this season, but was released earlier this month. Pence was also part of the 'Cats' 1st playoff team in 2004.
