The Perfect Game Collegiate League could have some company next summer. In a way.

Major League Baseball is proposing that if the Tri-City Valleycats end up losing their affiliation with the Houston Astros, which has netted the 'Cats 3 NY-Penn League titles and a handful of Stedler Division titles, they would be downgraded to a wooden bat league not too dissimilar to the PGCL. The last thing the team needs is another bad move, after the passings of founder William Gladstone and patron saint Joe Bruno earlier this year. Stay tuned.

Thursday's entire high school slate was postponed or cancelled due to rain. Troy's women's tennis team apparently will finish their season today vs. Shenendehowa, with no makeup dates set for Colonie or Saratoga.
