Will the 3rd time be the charm for the Tri-City Valleycats in a doubleheader at Sussex County?

The 'Cats and the Miners have been rained out three consecutive days. Doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday & Sunday were among the postponements. They'll play 2 today----weather permitting---, but the two teams will see each other in New Jersey again later this season to make up the other games.

The Atlanta Hawks are a game away from advancing to the second round of the NBA's Eastern Conference playoffs after beating the Knicks, 113-96, on Sunday afternoon. Kevin Huerter (Shen/Maryland) contributed 11 points off the bench in the win. A win on Wednesday wraps up the series, and, assuming top seeded Philadelphia advances, they'll be next up for the Hawks.

Mother Nature wasn't kind to the Mets & Atlanta Braves, either, as Sunday's game was postponed due to rain. That game will be made up on Monday, July 26, as part of a single admission doubleheader. The rainout on Friday will be made up three weeks from tonight as part of another single admission double-dip, with each game going seven innings. The Mets then travel to Atlanta the following week. Shen grad Ian Anderson will get more chances to avenge himself on the unlikely NL Least leaders, after getting knocked out in the 5th inning on Saturday night, only to watch the bullpen take a siesta, as the Mets scored nine runs off the Braves' pen.
