News & notes

Saturday's UAlbany-Syracuse football game marks the return of UAlbany linebacker Joe Casale to the Carrier Dome, four years after leading Troy High to their most recent state title.

Back then, of course, Casale played on both sides of the ball, as he was the quarterback for Troy. Now a redshirt sophomore with the Great Danes, Casale will see time at linebacker and on special teams on Saturday. While we don't know if the game will be on TV as of press time, it will be on radio. WGY AM/FM has the local rights to Syracuse radio coverage.

Speaking of television, Atlanta pitcher Ian Anderson (Shenendehowa) will be on the hill when the Braves play at San Francisco later tonight. The Braves-Giants game is one of two late-night options on MLB Network (Spectrum channel 306). Anderson was to pitch last night at home vs Colorado, but that game was rained out.

The Arsenal City Run returns this Sunday in Watervliet. If you're planning to travel Sunday morning, and have to use CDTA buses to pass through Watervliet, check the CDTA website before leaving in case there are any detours due to the race.
