A Patriotic blowout (Troy @ Schenectady, 12/30/21)

Having not played in over a week after beating Averill Park on December 20, John Killian's Troy High Flying Horses came to the Pat Riley Center at Schenectady High for a twilight special.

You'll excuse the low volume of the PA at the Center, as it appears not to be fully in sync with the YouTube stream. Down 1 in the 2nd quarter, Troy took a 10 point halftime lead, and never looked back, blowing away the Patriots, 76-58.

Here's the video:

The two teams will meet again at Zotto Memorial Gym on January 18. Meanwhile, the women's teams will meet at Zotto Gym on January 8 and the Riley Center on January 18.

Up next for Troy (4-3 overall) is a non-league game vs. Mount Anthony on Monday, starting a stretch of four games in six days.

Other stuff:

RPI had their hockey game vs. Vermont moved to Burlington, and they beat the Catamounts, 3-2, snapping a 3 game losing streak (all in Alaska).

COVID continues to be a problem for local college basketball. UAlbany's women's team has postponed games at Hartford on Friday and a home game Sunday vs. Vermont. Siena, which already announced postponements for the women vs. Manattan (tonight) and Niagara (Saturday) and the men vs. Canisius (Sunday), have added Friday's matinee vs. Iona to the list. Both UAlbany & Siena are dealing with COVID issues on their teams.
