News & notes

While there were a couple of tennis matches in Section II Tuesday, the diamond at Troy High was too frozen from two days of cold temperatures, such that Troy called off its softball game vs. Lansingburgh. No make-up date has been set, though the two teams are set to play at Lansingburgh next month. Troy is scheduled to host Mohonasen on Thursday, but rain, more specifically, thunderstorms are in the forecast, so we'll see.

WNYT sports director Rodger Wyland revealed on his WTMM show on Tuesday that the unnamed player reportedly struck by UAlbany coach Dwayne Killings in November is guard Luke Fizulich, who has entered the transfer portal. The last thing Killings and/or UAlbany needs now is another turbulent off-season.

In other UAlbany news, the women's golf team placed 11th at the Georgia State Invitational on Tuesday. The lowest score for the Great Danes belonged to Amber Thornton, who finished 14th in individual competition.
