The Tri-City Valleycats entered Saturday's game at Evansville having won six of their last seven. The Otters, however, slowed the momentum with a 10-6 verdict over the 'Cats.
Denis Phipps added to his team record total with his 24th homer of the year, a grand slam, but the 'Cats couldn't do anything else to help. Brantley Bell's homer streak ended at 8 games, but he did drive in a run.
The teams finish the series tonight at 6:05.

Atlanta's Ian Anderson (Shenendehowa) flirted with perfection on Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Anderson took a perfect game into the 5th before Jake McCarthy doubled to end the no-hit bid. Anderson, however, won his 9th decision this season, as the Braves beat the D-Backs, 6-2. Anderson went 6 innings, giving up just the one hit while walking one and striking out nine. He's on course to pitch against the Mets at Citi Field as early as Thursday.

The Albany Empire could win another National Arena League title next week. To do it, though, they have to finally figure out how to beat the Carolina Cobras, who swept a 3 game regular season series from the defending champions.
Albany escaped with a 68-67 victory over Jacksonville after the Sharks scored a touchdown and a 2 point conversion on the final play of the game. Check the video:
