Saturday's high school & college scoreboard, 9/10

It took a half of football for Troy High coach Chris Stack to realize that his Flying Horses have potential.

Down 7-0 to Albany at the break, Troy came back in the second half, as senior QB Michael Dinardo more than atoned for throwing a pick-six to his opposite number, Albany's Jahquil Thompson, by scoring on a 1 yard keeper in the 3rd quarter, then hitting Justin Gilmore with the game winner in the 4th quarter, as Troy snapped a 4 game losing streak from last year, 14-7.

Troy comes home Friday to host South Glens Falls (0-1), which lost their opener to Mohonasen.

The Troy volleyball team took part in a tournament on Saturday at Lansingburgh High, and plowed through the field consisting of the host Knights, Taconic Hills (Patroon Conference), Waterford-Halfmoon (Wasaren League), and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Colonial Council) to advance to the tournament finals, which may be today, though it's not listed on the calendar per Schedule Galaxy. We should have an update tomorrow at the earliest.

Update, 9/12: Turns out it was a 1 day event, and Troy ran the table to win the tournament.
