I suppose this was inevitable.
A few years ago, Hudson Valley Community College became part of the network of colleges of the State University of New York (SUNY). With SEFCU Arena undergoing renovations this winter, UAlbany's men's & women's basketball teams moved their home games to the Joseph McDonough Field House at HVCC.
Now, a handful of UAlbany baseball games will be played at Bruno Stadium on the HVCC campus.
While some media outlets are saying six games will be played, all on Fridays as the opening game of a weekend series, the school's website confirms that it's just five games. To wit:
Friday, March 24 – vs. UMBC @ 3:00 p.m.
Friday, April 14 – vs. UMass Lowell @ 6:00 p.m.
Friday, April 28 – vs. Wagner @ 6:00 p.m.
Friday, May 5 – vs. Binghamton @ 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 18 – vs. NJIT @ 6:00 p.m.
Weather permitting, of course. In the event the game is postponed and can't be played at Bruno Stadium, it'll be moved to UAlbany's campus field. The only thing missing is an exhibition with HVCC's team. Remember, UAlbany played every other college in the 518 except HVCC during basketball season, and it would be a disservice to snub the baseball team, too.
Stay tuned.
