Contrary to what had been reported previously, there is no Class AAA in football----yet----in Section II.
The 2023 football schedules are out, and we'll focus on Troy High & LaSalle, who will see each other at Picken Field this season as Troy tries to reclaim the Collar City Cup.
However, what hasn't been determined is if Classes A & C would have a 4-or-8-team playoff schedule for this year. That will be decided in June.
Here we go. Expect Week 1 to be September 8-9.
Week 1: Troy @ Queensbury (Saturday, Sept. 9). LaSalle home opener vs. CBA in the Battle For The Sabre.
Week 2: Troy home opener vs. South Glens Falls. Burnt Hills @ LaSalle.
Week 3: Troy @ Columbia. Amsterdam @ LaSalle.
Week 4: Collar City Cup. LaSalle @ Troy.
Week 5: LaSalle @ Columbia. Troy Homecoming vs. Bethlehem. The Eagles are swapping with Ballston Spa, as the Scotties move to Class AA.
Week 6: Troy @ Amsterdam. The Rams will be looking for revenge after losing on Homecoming last year at Picken Field. LaSalle @ Columbia.
Week 7: Troy @ Averill Park. LaSalle @ Bethlehem.
Week 8*: Troy Senior Night vs. Albany. LaSalle Senior Night vs. Queensbury.
*---If Section II goes to a 4-team playoff in Class A, crossover games will be substituted.
Dates & times will be finalized this summer.
