News & notes

Meteorologist Chicken Little did it again on Wednesday.

By this, I mean that the Albany Dutchmen, anticipating a more sustained rainfall than what actually came down late Wednesday afternoon, postponed their game with the Utica Blue Sox, but the skies had cleared by the time the teams were supposed to play.

The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

Antonio Brown is digging a deeper hole for himself with some fans in the 518.

In an interview published today, Brown stated his admiration for former president Donald Trump. Couple that with Brown's bizarre behavior since arriving in Albany 3 months ago, and you'd think he'd have more in common with that other deranged lunatic, Kanye West, except that while West has acknowledged having bi-polar disorder, we don't know if Brown has it, or CTE, or both.

Meanwhile, the Albany Empire signed QB Dalton Cole, who will start vs. Jacksonville on Saturday. How long that lasts remains to be seen.

Daytime baseball of late seems to bring out the best in the Tri-City Valleycats.

In front of nearly 4000 fans on Education Day II, the 'Cats pounded Lake Erie, 13-6, pounding 5 home runs in the process.

The Crushers finish their series with Tri-City tonight at 6:30. Meanwhile, maybe the 'Cats and the Frontier League should consider scheduling more day games. Just sayin'.

Just days before he is to graduate, Troy High multi-sport star Michael DiNardo was named Spectrum News' Student-Athlete of The Year earlier this week.

DiNardo will stay in the 518, as he'll be going across the river to Union College in the fall to play football.
