Provided the weather cooperates, the Tri-City Valleycats will open a weekend series with the Ottawa Titans at Bruno Stadium tonight at 6:30 pm after Quebec walked them off, 6-5, in 10 innings Thursday. The team has played some of their best ball of the season in front of the homies, including a sweep of Florence last week.

The Albany Twilight League's social media was late posting Tuesday's & Wednesday's results, but now we know that the Troy Haymakers lost to Capital City on Tuesday, dropping to 1-9, pending the outcome of last night's game vs. Clifton Park.
Update, 4:18 pm: Make it 1-10 after a 4-3 loss to Clifton Park.

Andre Jackson is headed to the NBA.
The Amsterdam native (Albany Academy/Connecticut) was picked in the 2nd round by Orlando, then traded to Milwaukee. None of the "local" squads (Boston, Brooklyn, Knicks) were even close to drafting Jackson.
Four picks earlier, Jalen Pickett, the former Siena star, most recently with Penn State, was drafted by Indiana, then sent to Denver in another trade.
For those who wonder, Daniel "Boo" Buie (Northwestern/Troy High/Gould Academy), who just finished his senior season, was not drafted. If he has any eligibility left at Northwestern, that might be the reason why. Half brother Talor Battle (Bishop Maginn/Penn State) reunited with Buie at Northwestern when he took a job as an assistant coach.
