This one is filed under, "Oh, you didn't know?".
My only link to former Siena & Watervliet coach Joe Hogan, who passed away last week at age 87, was he was a client of my daytime employers. His sister was a co-worker of mine until her retirement a few years back.

Hogan graduated from Siena in 1967, and returned to coach the women's basketball team 12 years later. In six seasons (1979-85), Hogan compiled a 119-51 record, and led Siena to the 1982 NYSIAW title, beating current MAAC rival Canisius, at the time the #7 team in Division II. Siena moved up from Division II to Division I in 1984, prior to Hogan's final season. Prior to his Siena coaching career, Hogan coached men's basketball at Watervliet from 1969-76, and taught social studies at 'Vliet until he retired after the 1990-1 season.
Rest in peace.
