Columbia completed a sweep of the Class A bowling sectionals Friday, taking 1st place in the men's competition at Boulevard Bowl. Unfortunately, we don't know how Troy High fared, as the final chart was not published in today's papers.
Columbia becomes the first school since Colonie in 2013 to sweep the sectionals for men & women.

It was Senior Night at Frear Park for LaSalle, and the skating Cadets snapped a 2 game losing streak in shutting out Albany Academy, 4-0, avenging a loss last month. Frank Ramos had 2 goals and an assist for LaSalle, despite taking six penalties during the game. Danny Wiese & Chase Rose had the other goals for LaSalle, which takes on Bethlehem today in Delmar.

Shenendehowa 5, Adirondack 4. The Plainsmen move back into 1st, 1/2 point ahead of idle Queensbury. The Rivermen have dropped six in a row.

UAlbany opened its lacrosse season Friday, with the women dropping a heartbreaker to Johns Hopkins, 14-10. Katie Pascale had a hat trick for the Lady Danes.

Hudson Falls 53, Troy 41. Will Harris' Lady Horses stagger into the sectionals on an 8 game losing streak, but were competitive in non-league losses to Hudson Falls & Greenville. Sanaya Adams led Troy with 16 points.
