Thursday's high school & college scoreboard, 2/22

At UAlbany, there are three inevitabilities.

Death, taxes, and basketball losing to Vermont.

The Catamounts have had the men's basketball team's number for years, but it's even worse now with the Great Danes still without sophomore Jonathan Beagle (Hudson Falls). Tyler Bertram has stepped up in Beagle's absence, and led Albany with 27 points, including 7 3 pointers, in a 94-80 loss to Vermont at Broadview Center Thursday night. Amar'e Marshall added 14 points, and Sebastian Thomas had 19.

Vermont sweeps the season series, and has won 7 straight over Albany.

As for the women, Albany saw their 4 game winning streak snapped at the hands of Vermont, 67-35. The Lady Catamounts also swept the season series, running their winning streak over Albany to 4 in a row. Kayla Cooper led Albany with 13 points. The Lady Danes return home tomorrow for Senior Day vs. Lowell.
