News & notes

New Siena men's basketball coach Gerry McNamara might want to schedule a meeting with Sean Durugordon.

Durugordon, who played at Austin Peay & Missouri before coming to Siena this past season, has re-entered the transfer portal. He played just 14 games for Siena due to eligibility issues & injuries, and finished the season averaging 18 points a game.

In an interview, Durugordon revealed he missed the last seven games of the regular season due to a hamstring injury and a concussion.

McNamara will be formally introduced today at a press conference.

With inclement weather in the forecast Wednesday & Thursday, Troy High & Ballston Spa have moved up Wednesday's varsity softball & baseball games to today. First pitch in each game is at 11 am. Troy (1-0) is scheduled to play Shenendehowa on Friday, but we'll see if that comes off. Also, the local press has not been notified of the schedule change, so the game is not listed in today's papers.

Next stop for "Caitlinmania" is Cleveland.

Caitlin Clark & Iowa have ensured that there will be a new NCAA women's basketball champion after defeating defending champ LSU, 94-87, in front of a packed house at MVP Arena. Clark finished with 41 points, giving the 518 something to remember her by. The Lady Hawkeyes will face Connecticut, not South Carolina as I'd surmised, in the national semi-finals on Friday in Cleveland.
