High School Fridays: Bear hunting (Troy @ Glens Falls, women's basketball, 12/27/24)

Troy High's women's basketball team hadn't played in 10 days, mired in a 3 game losing streak. They still have a game to make up with Ravena after a home game last week was wiped out by inclement weather.

Undermanned, dressing only 8 players, Will Harris' club braved the elements and took part in the Glens Falls Holiday Tournament, playing the host Black Bears in the nightcap, after Stillwater blew away hapless Hudson Falls, 53-38. How it is that there are just 8 varsity players, after Harris had as many as 10-11 last year, is a mystery.

It was defense that kept Troy in the game throughout, leading to an exciting 4th quarter........

Troy is set to play Hudson Falls tomorrow, unless they decide to have Troy play Stillwater under the traditional tournament format.

For what it's worth, Glens Falls won the JV game, 47-46, in another tight game.
