Troy High sports review, through February 1

Two weeks remain in the regular season for basketball. Sectionals are right around the corner.

Men's swimming & diving:

Final regular season record: 8-0.

All that's left, after defeating Shaker on Thursday, is if the lone Troy swimmer, Rocco Jabour, qualifies for sectionals later this month.

Bowling:

Final regular season record: 8-6 (8-5 Colonial Council).

Troy completed season sweeps of Voorheesville and Ravena this past week, ending a 3 match losing streak.

Next: Boulevard Bowl hosts the Colonial Council championships on Monday.

Women's basketball:

Current record: 10-6 (5-5 Colonial Council).

We discussed the Lady Horses' loss to Albany Academy previously, ending a 6 game winning streak.

Next: Voorheesville makes its first visit to Zotto Gym on Tuesday, and, then, it's a return match with Cohoes on Friday.

Men's basketball:

Current record: 11-4 (7-1 Colonial Council).

Jamil Hood's club has come down to earth with 2 straight losses. Shenendehowa swept the Horses on Saturday, 61-50, but the losing will soon end.

Next: 1st trip to Voorheesville on Tuesday. Then, Cohoes comes in on Thursday, and a rematch with Lansingburgh at MVP Arena on Saturday.
