Troy High sports review, through February 8

This is the final full week of regular season action in basketball. Sectionals in swimming & bowling come later this week.

Bowling:

Troy finished 4th in the Colonial Council championships one week ago at Boulevard Bowl. We haven't heard if any Troy kegler has qualified for sectionals which will be right back at Boulevard today (men) & Wednesday (women).

Women's basketball:

Current record: 12-6 (7-5 Colonial Council).

Will Harris' squad dusted themselves off after the loss to Albany Academy to beat Voorheesville & Cohoes last week. The Lady Horses have won 8 of 9, and are building momentum heading toward the sectionals next week.

Up next: Senior night vs. Lansingburgh on Tuesday, then the season finale at Mohonasen on Friday.

Men's basketball:

Current record: 12-5 (8-2 Colonial Council).

The Horses came out anxious, if not also flat, vs. Voorheesville, but righted the ship in completing a season sweep of Lansingburgh on Saturday night.

Up next: Cohoes comes in Wednesday to kick off a season ending 3 game homestand. Then, it's Mohonasen on Friday, with Senior night on February 18 vs. Schenectady.
