Colonie High is mourning the passing of junior John Verbo, 16, who was on the Wolfpack's men's volleyball team.
Verbo was in Boston with a travel team, the Capital Sliders, based in Clifton Park, for a tournament last month when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Four days later, Verbo passed away at Tufts Medical Center.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by a parent of one of Verbo's Capital Sliders teammates to help defray funeral costs. The funeral is set for Saturday in Colonie.
