News & notes

The Gateway Grizzlies salvaged the final game of their series with the Tri-City Valleycats, taking Thursday's game, 10-5, getting 6 runs in the 8th inning against the Tri-City bullpen to secure the win.

Call it karma, since, as previously reported, a local charity's radio ads misidentified the team as the "Getaway" Grizzlies.

Tri-City welcomes back the Brockton Rox tonight at 6:30.

We've just received word that the Belmont Stakes will indeed return to Saratoga next year, as renovations on Belmont won't make the track 100% ready until after the 2026 Triple Crown.

Considering that the 5 day Belmont Racing Festival has brought in major bucks for both NYRA & the city of Saratoga Springs, this was an easy call.

To refresh, let's take you back to last Saturday at Saratoga, and Frank Miramante's call of the race, plus commentary from Fox's Curt Menefee and friends.

Now, that's a tough act to follow.
