News & notes

When the Frontier League holds its All-Star game next Wednesday at Bruno Stadium, the host Tri-City Valleycats will have two players on the Atlantic Conference roster. The only problem is, neither one is starting.

Catcher Oscar Campos & 3rd baseman Ian Walters were named as reserves on Monday. Campos will back up starter Jason Agresti of the NY Boulders, while Walters will follow Sean Roby, Jr. of Sussex County.

For those of you scoring at home, Brockton will only have one player on the roster, outfielder Tommy Kretzler. Derek Bender (Albany Academy/Coastal Carolina) didn't make the cut. Ex-Valleycat Austin Dennis, now with the Boulders, returns to Troy on the Atlantic Conference pitching staff. Dennis was drafted by Houston in 2018.
