Tanner LaTorre (Ichabod Crane) repeated as medalist in a state men's golf qualifier Wednesday at the Fairways of Halfmoon.
LaTorre, a junior, was the only one to break par for the entire tournament. Troy's Joey Degnan finished in a tie for 4th at 13 over par. In all, 8 players qualified for the state tournament in June.
A few clicks down the road at the Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, Saratoga won the women's Section 2 team competition. Albany Academy placed 3rd, with LaSalle in 4th.

1st year Siena men's assistant basketball coach Ben Lee will have a bit of a homecoming, after a sort, when his alma mater, Union, comes calling at the UHY Center for a pre-season game on Sunday. Game time is 2 pm, but don't look for the game on radio. Online streaming? Maybe.
