Troy High sports review, through October 24

 Now, the real fun starts.

Football:

Final regular season record: 6-2 (4-1 Class A Capital Division).

Would someone be so kind as to order a plate of crow for James Allen at the Albany Times-Union?

Allen predicted Troy would finish 3rd in the division. Probably figured they'd be buried after losing to Niskayuna. Nope. Troy has won 4 in a row after beating Amsterdam on Friday.

Next: Kevin DeBonis & Burnt Hills come to town for a 1st round playoff game on Halloween night. The playlist on the PA should include "Thriller", "Monster's Holiday", "Welcome to my Nightmare"......!

Volleyball:

Final regular season record: 18-0. Colonial Council champions.

After all the confusion caused by an errant videographer, Troy finished a perfect regular season by sweeping Lansingburgh.

Next: Sectional pairings will be announced on Tuesday.

Swimming:

Final regular season record: 4-5.

Troy-Averill Park closed the regular season losing 3 of their last 4 meets, the latest loss coming against Guilderville.

Sectionals have not yet been scheduled.

Men's soccer:

Final record: 6-11.

Ballston Spa collected a receipt, and elimnated Troy in the 1st round.

Women's soccer:

Final record: 3-13-1.

As expected, the Lady Horses are 1-&-done after losing to South Glens Falls in the 1st round.
