News & notes

To clarify something from yesterday, Colonie, despite losing to CBA on Thursday, will play the Brothers again next Friday in the Class AA football semi-finals, only this time, CBA will be at home. Chalk it up to quarter points determining the final spot in the 4 team field. Saratoga returns to Shenendehowa for a rematch from October 24, and Spectrum News 1 will be there again to cover the game.

We'll have predictions for Classes AA, B, & D on Monday.

It comes down to one game for the World Series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers forced game 7 with a 3-1 win on Friday, and that means all hands on deck for tonight's series finale (Fox, 8 pm). Shaker grad Jeff Hoffman closed Thursday's game for Toronto, but it was not a save situation with the Jays up by 5 in the 9th inning.

I suspect Hoffman will be called on early if needed.

LaSalle's football season is likely over after the winless Cadets (0-9) lost to Mohonasen on Wednesday night. Mark Galuski's club will have a deeper roster next year, and they'll likely contend.
