Siena in still looking for its first win in women's basketball.
Despite the return of Valencia Fontanelle-Posson (Guilderland), the Lady Saints fell to Army, 67-52. Fontanelle-Posson had just 2 points in 12 minutes in her first game back from injury. Albany's Azera Gates has yet to get into a game this season for the Saints (0-3). Siena returns home to play Dartmouth on Sunday at the UHY Center in Loudonville (WVCR, 2 pm).
In other Siena news, the men's soccer team advanced to the MAAC finals by beating Iona, 2-1, in overtime. The Saints will play Sacred Heart for the title on Sunday.
Only one high school game to report, and the news is not good for Section II.
Galway, the Class C women's volleyball champions, were eliminated by Mount Academy, 3-1, on Thursday night. Mount Academy moves into pool play at Harding Mazzotti Arena in Glens Falls next Friday.
