With the temperature well below freezing for their season opener, Troy High & Guilderland opened their seasons tonight with different levels of expectations. Troy, in its 2nd season in the Colonial Council, conceivably could be a player if they can get past the league's elite (i.e. Catholic Central, Holy Names).
The tone was set earlier, as Troy's JV's crushed Guilderland's JV's, 54-24. Would the varsity game be more of the same?
Troy trailed briefly in the first quarter, but once they took the lead for good, it was over. The Troy varsity completed the sweep, romping to a 68-38 victory to open the season.
Next up for the Lady Horses will be the home opener Tuesday vs. Holy Names.
