UAlbany salvaged the final game of their weekend trip to Canada by routing SUNY Oneonta, 90-62, on Sunday afternoon at Place Bell.
Okechukwu Okeke led 4 Great Danes in double figures with 17 points. UAlbany is idle until Saturday, when they play Columbia (WTMM, 5:30 pm.).
Siena completed a 3 game sweep in Washington on Sunday, as the men ran their winning streak to 5 in a row with a 64-60 victory over Maine. Gavin Doty led the way with 17 points, while Brendan Coyle finished with 6 points, and Marcus Jackson had 2. The Saints return to MVP Arena Friday vs. Niagara (WJMZ, 7 pm).
In their first game back from Thanksgiving break, RPI's men fell to Middlebury, 81-75. Kellen Driscoll (Glens Falls) came off the bench to score 9 points in 28 minutes. The Engineers return home Friday to play Clarkson.
RPI's ECAC men's hockey team swept a weekend series from Niagara, 4-1 on Friday, & 3-2 on Saturday. RPI returns to Houston Field House Friday at 7 vs. Quinnipiac for Teddy Bear Toss night. Conversely, the RPI women were swept by Syracuse, dropping a 3-0 decision at home on Saturday.
Turning to high school action, Saratoga is Section II's last hope for a state football title, but to get there, the Blue Streaks will have to unseat defending champion CBA of Syracuse, who fittingly have the home field at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday night at 6 pm. Glens Falls & Schuylerville shockingly went down to defeat Saturday before Saratoga took down Mamaroneck.
With reports of a snowstorm bent on dropping as much as 8 or 9 inches, depending on what you read or hear, Tuesday morning, check with your schools to see if after-school activities previously scheduled are still on.
