Will Richardson had transferred from Fordham to UAlbany in the hope of playing for coach Dwayne Killings this season.
It's not going to happen.
An NCAA investigation into Richardson's eligibility kept him off the court as the season started, and, on Tuesday, Richardson was released from the program. Seems there were things that came up before he came to Albany that raised red flags.
All that does is continue a season of misery at UAlbany.
Killings' squad dropped a 96-67 decision to South Carolina Tuesday. Amir Lindsey led Albany with 18 points. America East play starts for the moribund Great Danes (4-11) Saturday at UMass-Lowell.
In other local college action, Skidmore defeated Coast Guard, 83-71.
