 You might not have noticed him, but there was a player with a stint in the 518 on his resume at the Super Bowl on Sunday night.

The odd thing, though, is that Zach Triner, who was on special teams for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, played lacrosse, not football, at Siena. Go figure.

As more and more Section II teams are getting ready to play basketball, with the first games scheduled for tomorrow, we will keeping a close eye on the action, even though we will not be reporting live due to COVID restrictions. The first results will be up on Thursday.

Marshall Cassidy had the task of succeeding Dave Johnson as the voice of the New York Racing Association. While Johnson was calling the Triple Crown races and other major races for ABC, and later, NBC, if memory serves me correctly, Cassidy was hired by NYRA in 1979, and spent a decade in the booth at Saratoga, Belmont, & Aqueduct. He would also do some national work as well.

Cassidy, after retiring, made his home in Saratoga, where he passed away at 75.
