Grounded Eagles (Troy @ Bethlehem, 3/6/21)

Ever since entering the Suburban Council in 2015, one of the teams Troy High has had the most trouble with in basketball has been Bethlehem. That all changed when Troy won a non-league game over the Eagles to start the 2019-20 season, and split the season series.

This season is different. The Eagles are not among the elite of the league, and Troy has reclaimed its perch atop the Gray division. The two teams met today in the season finale for both, with playoff implications, depending on how the tournament will be structured when it starts on Monday, at stake.

Just as they did against Shaker last night, Troy came out running and gunning, and led virtually the entire game. We'll have the final stats in about 24 hours, but, suffice to say, Troy is ready for the tournament, but Bethlehem? Not so much, after a 63-38 beatdown. For the second straight game, coach Richard Hurley began lifting his starters, one at a time, in the 4th quarter, with the game well in hand.

Here's the video:

Whomever was in charge of Bethlehem's YouTube feed missed at least one basket by Troy, so I can't accurately figure the stats on my own. Troy finishes 10-2 for the regular season.
