High school hockey crowns a new champion

If you're a Shenendehowa supporter, still giddy over the basketball teams' sweep of the Suburban Council on Friday, reality hit like a tidal wave on Saturday.

The Adirondack Rivermen entered the CDHSHL final Saturday night seeking to avenge a 5-2 regular season loss to Shen last month. Two goals apiece in the 1st & 3rd periods were more than enough. Ben DiFiore did his best impression of NHL netminders like Henrik Lundqvist and Marc-Andre Fleury, to name a couple, with a season best 32 saves to keep the Plainsmen at bay, and Adirondack wins the league title, 4-0.

Edit, 7/18/23: The video was deleted by ABC-10.

Congratulations to the Rivermen. Next season is still 9 months away, and, for now, uneasy may lie the crown.
