In their last two matches, the Troy High women's volleyball team showed signs of snapping out of a season-starting losing streak. However, the momentum generated after winning a set would dissipate quickly, resulting in losses to Colonie & Guilderland last week.
Tonight, the Lady Horses came home to play Albany, still looking for that first match win of the season. The tempo was set with a 10-0 run to start the first set, leading to a 25-6 win. After falling behind 2-0 in sets, the Falcons went into survival mode, winning the 3rd set, and could've forced a 5th, but after another see-saw battle in the 4th set, Troy put it away, 25-23, to win the match, 3 sets to 1. Troy is now 1-4 on the season, and will travel to Ballston Spa on Thursday before coming home Monday afternoon to play Shaker. Matches next week will start around 12:45 pm while school is in recess.
