Those of us who are long time sports fans know that it's never a good idea to take a weaker team lightly.

Troy High's softball team found that out the hard way on Monday, as their three game winning streak came to an end in a 2-0 loss to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Troy (7-4 overall, 6-4 Suburban Council) has to regroup quickly, since they'll play Bethlehem, one of the leaders in the Suburban Council Blue division, on Wednesday. The linescores for both the softball & baseball games were not submitted to the press. We obtained the result from the Spartans' Twitter page.

Burnt Hills also beat Troy in tennis (9-0), keeping the Flying Horses winless on the court, and extended Troy's baseball losing streak to three in a row and four of the last five with a 5-4 win, walking off the visitors in the bottom of the 7th. Troy baseball's record is now 6-4, while the tennis team is at 0-9.

The two schools meet in lacrosse tonight.
