News & notes

The Troy Fighting Irish ran their record to 3-0 Saturday with a road win over Rochester. Unfortunately, we only know that via the team's social media channels, with no final score reported. The Irish have this weekend off before returning to action July 10 on the road.

Siena College is saying goodbye to men's assistant basketball coach Antoni Wyche, who's headed to Notre Dame next season.

Coach Carmen Maciariello will be looking for a new assistant this summer, but, coupled with the player turnover, things will be radically different when they return to the T-U Center this winter.

Apparently, the Atlanta Braves think Ian Anderson wouldn't stand a chance against Mets ace Jacob deGrom.

Anderson won't pitch against the Mets in the series starting tonight at Truist Park, and instead will open the series vs. Miami on Friday night. The Shen grad earned his first win against New York one week ago in the 2nd game of a doubleheader.

Shen's other gift to Atlanta, Kevin Huerter, had 11 points in a loss to Milwaukee on Sunday night. The Hawks will try to even their series with the Bucks later tonight (8 pm, TNT).

The Albany Dutchmen will have to get up off the mat after getting plastered by Saugerties, 12-2, on Monday night. The Dutchmen had their first Sunday games of the season this past weekend, splitting a doubleheader.
