News & notes

Former Giants coach Jim Fassel, who directed the team to the Super Bowl after the 2000 season, passed away on Tuesday at 73. Fassel was the coach when Big Blue began holding training camps at UAlbany at the end of the 90's.

Philadelphia evened their NBA Eastern Conference semi-final series vs. Atlanta with a 118-102 win on Tuesday. Shenendehowa grad Kevin Huerter tallied 20 points for Atlanta in a losing effort. The scene shifts to Atlanta on Friday night for game 3.

Late afternoon rains wiped out the Tri-City Valleycats' home game vs. the NY Boulders. That will be made up as part of a doubleheader when the Boulders return to Troy next month. They'll try again to get a game in today.

The Albany Dutchmen were rained out in Glens Falls, so they'll try again later this week to complete a suspended game from last week vs. the Dragons.
