News & notes

 The Albany Empire clinched the National Arena League's regular season title Saturday, completing a season sweep of the Columbus Lions, 63-43.

The Empire returns home to Times-Union Center next Saturday for the regular season finale.
=======================================
The Tri-City Valleycats, for the 2nd straight night, split a doubleheader with Equipe Quebec, winning the opener, 13-6, before dropping the nightcap. The two teams will wrap up the series this afternoon at 5 pm, weather permitting, of course.
=======================================
The Albany Dutchmen won't win their division in the Perfect Game Collegiate League, and look like they're locked into 3rd place behind Amsterdam & Saugerties after losing to Mohawk Valley on Saturday night.

The Dutchmen entered play Saturday 12 games out of first place due to a poor start to the season. Now three games under .500 with four to play, the chances of the Dutchmen making the playoffs are remote at best.
