To my knowledge, the Mets have never drafted anyone from Section II. You'd think they would at least once.
On Wednesday, the NL East leaders abused Shaker grad Jeff Hoffman, knocking him out after four innings, in which Hoffman (3-5) gave up five runs on five hits, and walked three, en route to a 7-0 win over Cincinnati. The two teams will meet again at Citi Field July 30-August 1, so there's a good chance Hoffman will get a shot at redemption and revenge.

After getting blown out Tuesday night, the Tri-City Valleycats returned the favor against Sussex County on Wednesday, downing the Miners, 12-5. Sussex County rallied against the 'Cats' bullpen, but it was too little, too late.

Former WQBK DJ Dalton Castle, a Rochester native wrestling for Ring of Honor, will find himself in a different kind of arena on Sunday night when he appears as part of an all-star team of wrestlers on ABC's Celebrity Family Feud with Steve Harvey.
Castle will be part of a team captained by actor and part-time wrestler David Arquette that also features Peter Avalon and "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, son of the late actor Luke Perry, representing All Elite Wrestling. The episode begins at 8 pm.
