News & notes

 A few added notes on Friday's LaSalle-Ballston Spa football game:

We erred with LaSalle's kicker. It's actually Matt Carberg, not Carver. Announcers Kelly O'Donnell & James Allen weren't exactly consistent with the ID during the game.

Former NFL lineman and CBA graduate Joe Vellano, who won a Super Bowl with New England, is on the LaSalle staff, along with brother Paul. Joe ended up costing the Cadets 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 3rd quarter when, after catching a stray Scotties punt, punted the ball back onto the field. It was supposed to all in good fun, but the officials weren't having it.
=======================================
Shenendehowa grad Ian Anderson didn't figure in the decision after Atlanta lost to San Francisco in extra innings Friday night. Anderson went 5 2/3 innings, struck out 7, walked two, and gave up 4 runs in 5 innings. The Giants have already clinched a playoff spot, but Atlanta has not. Yet.

Today's Syracuse-UAlbany game will be seen as well as heard locally.

ESPN has put the game on the ACC Network (Spectrum channel 388), with a 12 noon start.
