We've seen Syracuse & UAlbany play against each other in lacrosse, soccer, & basketball over the years, and the Orange, for the most part, have had the Great Danes' number.
On Saturday, the two teams met in football at the Carrier Dome, and it was a one-sided affair in favor of the Orange, who ran over the Danes, 62-24. UAlbany (0-3) has a bye week before resuming league play on October 3.

A non-league volleyball match between Troy & Lansingburgh had not been reported as of press time.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's women's volleyball may still be the queens of Section II, but their winning streak ended in a tournament in Pennsylvania on Saturday. In these tournament matches, it's a best of three instead of best of 5, as we're accustomed to.
That said, the Lady Spartans defeated Unionville in straight sets, but lost to Parkland, also in two straight sets. That will make Burnt Hills even more determined to claim another sectional title next month.
