At Troy High, Homecoming will be a little late this season.
While the Homecoming Dance will still take place Saturday night, Friday's Homecoming game vs. South Glens Falls-Fort Edward has been moved to a 6 pm start on Columbus Day, October 11. By then, the Flying Bulldogs should be ready after pausing for COVID last weekend.
I am begging them to play Hank Williams, Jr.'s old Monday Night Football theme on that ancient PA system. The only question is how many fans will actually go to the game, knowing they're going back to work or school the next morning. Keep in mind, too, that Troy won't have as much prep time for their road game at Amsterdam on October 15, and they'll soon know how NFL teams feel about having three days' rest between games if they're booked for a Thursday night.
