News & notes

We told you yesterday that RPI's women's hockey team had lost 31 straight games. Then, other sources noted that the winless streak was actually 39, including 8 ties.

This morning, it's over.

In the first half of a home & home series at Union College, the Lady Engineers ended the losing streak with a 4-0 verdict. RPI (1-4) will host Union (2-1) this afternoon at 3 in the first half of a hockey doubleheader at Houston Field House.

The nightcap will be the conclusion of a 2 game series between the RPI men and Bowling Green. Game 1 ended in a 2-2 tie through overtime (no shootouts in college hockey):

Meanwhile, the Union men dropped their opener to New Hampshire, 4-1.
