News & notes

 Coming off the Tournament of Heroes last weekend in Long Island, where they won 2 games in blowout fashion, the College of St. Rose was ready to roll on Wednesday night, but their game at Georgian Court in New Jersey was cancelled at the last minute due to behavioral issues with the host team. The game will not be made up.

Mike Perno's Golden Knights will begin league play in their next game against Adelphi.

Former Shenendehowa star Kevin Huerter contributed 19 points off the bench as the Atlanta Hawks downed the Boston Celtics, 110-99, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, along the 518 alumni trail, UConn's Andre Jackson (Albany Academy) scored 14 points to help the Huskies blow away Long Island University, 93-40.
====================================
At this point, UAlbany would like to just win a game.

Dwayne Killings' Great Danes fell to 0-3 after losing to Harvard, 60-53, at SEFCU Arena. At this rate, a game with the similarly luckless Siena would be a good catharsis.

Russell Sage College's basketball teams were up & down on Wednesday.

The men defeated SUNY-Castleton, 72-68, to go to 3-1 on the young season. Noah Girard (Glens Falls), cousin of Joseph Girard III (Syracuse), saw some time on the court, but didn't score.

Meanwhile, the Lady Gators fell to Skidmore, 68-61. Sage's women's team is now 2-2, while Skidmore remains undefeated at 3-0.

And to think they don't get enough attention from the press!
