Salvaging some pride (South Glens Falls vs. Troy @ Averill Park, 12/4)

Entering the consolation game of the Averill Park Tip-Off Tournament, South Glens Falls & Troy High had one thing in common. Both teams were blown off the court the night before, and needed a win to avoid total embarrassment.

The tone was set earlier in the day with Troy taking 3rd place in the JV tournament with a 28-20 win over the Bulldog JV's. The varsity game would also be a litmus test for both clubs.

Once again, Averill Park's PA was kept silent, so we have no idea who's who. What we do know is that Troy picked up their first win of the season, 39-37.

Troy (1-1) comes home to play Colonie on Friday, then will gird up for revenge against Burnt Hills on December 14. League play begins with the Colonie game, and Troy is looking at a killer first four games in the league. They return home to play Shaker on December 17, then return to Averill Park on December 21.
