 The Albany FireWolves made their first national television appearance of the season on Saturday, with their game at Philadelphia airing on ESPNews (Spectrum Cable channel 302). The 'Wolves evened their record at 2-2 with a 9-8 victory. The Wings will come to Albany in April, but the 'Wolves' next game will be January 29 at MVP Arena vs. Halifax.

It was a good day for Albany sports overall.

UAlbany's women's basketball team won its seventh straight, beating New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). 62-54. Grace Heeps (Columbia) contributed 8 points, and Lilly Phillips (Cambridge) added 7 in support of leading scorer Kayla Cooper, who finished with 21 points for the Lady Danes (10-4 overall, 3-0 America East).


Colleen Mullen's club travels to Hartford for a Monday matinee.

Back at SEFCU Arena, the UAlbany men, hours after learning that DeVondre Perry would be lost for the season due to a torn meniscus, completed the sweep of NJIT, 71-56.

Siena's women's team has now won 3 in a row, beating Manhattan, 53-47. Ahnniysha Jackson (Albany High) had 11 points for the Lady Saints (3-10).
